We partnered with the team at Wiley Education Services to promote a new social work degree website.
The Challenge
Saturated Market
Social work is a highly competitive niche within higher education, with lots of schools offering online programs and spending millions on marketing. Wiley wanted to enter a tough landscape and generate inquiries.
Lackluster Online Performance
Previous site launches by the team at Wiley had resulted in rankings and inquiries very quickly. Due to the competitive nature of the social work niche, this site was ‘stuck’ and needed high-quality backlinks to kickstart their presence in search.
Untapped Search Potential
Tens of thousands of people search a month for degree-seeking terms related to social work degrees, and cost-per-click advertising makes it hard to get a margin. With a minisite that ranks well for social work degree terms, Wiley could generate inquiries across their set of programs for a fraction of the cost.
Process and strategy
Research and analysis
We used our prior experience working on another high-profile social work minisite to inform our strategy, allowing us to research and ideate content that would resonate with this audience.
Content Creation
We created and designed an evergreen piece of content about a pertinent topc in the social work space.
Content Promotion
Our strategy was to promote the content to earn the website authority by connecting it with social work organizations, colleges and universities, counselors and social workers. The results speak for themselves: Over a six-month period, we achieved more than doubled website traffic (125% increase), tripled the number of keywords ranking in top 3 positions (200% growth), and reached $50,000+ in monthly keyword value.
